Your life will not change unless you assume complete responsibility of it. Responsibility, your ability to respond, isn’t a way of accepting blame as most people think, but it’s rather a way of assuming your ability to respond to any situation properly.
One of the biggest challenges that most people face in these accelerated times we live in, is the feeling that their lives are just spiraling out of control. They feel like the circumstances of their lives have lead them down a torturous path, where they have no jurisdiction.
The truth being your life will not change unless you assume full control of it. Responsibility doesn’t just mean accepting all of your mistakes, but also accepting your ability to respond to any situation.
It’s absolutely critical to realize and accept that it’s never the actual events of your life, but it’s your response to these events that will shape and create it.
You are never the creature of circumstance, and you have the ultimate ability to consciously decide what things mean, and how to respond to them. You’re the only one who’ll take you where you want to go in your life.
Assuming Full Responsibility
Responsibility is not some skill that you need to go and find outside of yourself, it’s something that you already possess. All you need to do is assume this power which calls on you, to stop blaming any and everything other than yourself.
Most of us have been conditioned to blame someone else for the parts of our lives that don’t work out. When you take full responsibility for your life, you place yourself in the drivers seat.
You get back your freedom as you now have the ability to control and direct it the way that you choose. Ultimately, it’s not the conditions of your life, but rather the decisions you make, what you’re going to do about it, which will create the ultimate ride.
Be The Driver Of Your Life
When you’re fully responsible, you recognize that you are the creator of your life. First by your conscious actions, then by the meanings and the emotions that you attached to the events and experiences of them.
Once you accept responsibility, you can then begin to recreate it the way that you truly want to live. If you keep blaming others, you will remain forever bound because you will always rely on them.
You have to consciously unfold your arms, get out of the back seat and get back behind the wheel, and start directing your life towards where you want it to go, this instead of just going with the flow.
It’s Up To You
You have two choices in life, a conscious one and an unconscious one. You can either choose to be directed by the events and circumstances of life, allowing it to take you wherever it’s going.
Or you can have both hands on the wheel and decide that you are in full control. You get to decide where you go. Although you can’t control all of the events of your life, you can decide what the events mean to you, and how you’re going to respond.
Whenever anything happens to you, you have to respond to it in order to create the outcome. Most people have fallen into the cultural hypnosis which passes the responsibility on to someone else. Then their life falls out of control.
Directing How You Live
You create your own world. When you assume responsibility, you’re in charge, this is an internal shift in your thinking and behavior. Your psychology isn’t just a big part of your life, it becomes everything.
Winning and losing in life is an internal game. By learning to control and direct your mind, you get to choose what things mean, and therefore you get to choose your outcome. No one can ever give you full responsibility, but it can be a switch that only you can turn on or off.
Never Blame Others
Being fully responsible doesn’t mean you live in blame and self pity. It means that you live life from a place of power where you know that on some level, you are completely responsible for everything that happens to you.
Be careful how you utilize your past experiences. With responsibility, comes a new emotional territory which reinvents your past. You want to use your past as a place to learn from, a place to pull pleasure and experiences from.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, there’s a gift in there somewhere. You just need to find it. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood, you have the ability to find an empowering meaning in whatever life gives you.
Being In Complete Control
Responsibility means that you’re in charge. You call the shots. Nobody and nothing is in control, or to blame, other than you. This is how you turn problems into opportunities, and how an ordinary life becomes extraordinary.
Life is either a daring adventure or it’s nothing. You decide what it’s going to be for you. You can either allow the environment to steer your life, or you can assume full control and take responsibility.
Life can be one amazing adventure, but only if you perceive it as that. By being responsible, you can take yourself anywhere you want to go, this because you’re the only one who gets to direct its course.
